Breast cancer is a leading cause of cancer death among women in the United States, but breast cancer mortality has been steadily declining since 1990. Early detection via screening mammography, coupled with improved therapy, has been credited with reducing the number of breast cancer deaths in the United States and other countries. Until research determines a way to prevent breast cancer, screening mammography will continue to be the primary tool in efforts to reduce the toll of the disease. Thus, ensuring the quality of mammography is important for women’s health.  This course, published by the Institute of Medicine and the National Research Council shows how the MQSA regulations have helped improve the quality of Mammography.  These courses also meet FDA requirements for continuing education.
